PART 1 GENERAL
1.01 SECTION INCLUDES
A. This section includes all flush wood doors with wood
veneer, high pressure laminate, or medium density overlay faces,
including machining, finishing and installing of wood doors.
Coordinate with sections 08120 (Aluminum Door Frames) and 08800
A. Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI)-Architectural
Wood Door Quality Standards (AWDQS):
1. Provide doors meeting or exceeding the latest
edition of the AWDQS - Section #1300 standards and
as modified by this specification and architects
B. Fire doors to bear label of Underwriters
Laboratories, Inc. or Warnock Hersey International showing
compliance with the fire ratings as noted on architects
A. Procedures: In accordance with "GENERAL CONDITIONS"
as listed below.
B. Shop Drawings: Submit schedules and elevations
indicating door sizes, construction, fire label and clearances
recommended by door manufacturer. Cross reference to drawings
and "Hardware Schedule".
C. Samples for Verification of Factory Finished Doors:
Submit two samples (8" X 11") of the specified veneer with the
finish to match architect's sample. The architects sampler
should be 8" X 11" showing the desired sheen and color on the
wood species and cut to be used.
D. Product Information - Submit manufacturer's
brochure and certificate signed by an officer of door
manufacturing corporation showing complete compliance with the
specifications, along with finishing instructions, installation
instructions, complete copy of warranty and general
recommendations for the care and maintenance of doors.
1.04 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING
A. Do not begin fabrication of doors or frames until a
complete approved hardware schedule and hardware templates have
been received from the hardware supplier.
1.05 DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
